AfricanStockPhoto was a stock photography platform for and from Africa that featured a royalty-free content database populated by a community of hundreds of photographers across the continent. Founded in 2016 by Dicky Hokie Jnr and Sitati Kituyi, it aimed to authentically represent African visual stories and counter stereotypical images of the continent. The platform grew steadily but was shut down in mid 2020 after four years of operation.
