Porter
Porter is an open-source Kubernetes-based Platform as a Service (PaaS) that provisions and manages Kubernetes clusters on your own cloud provider account (AWS, GCP, DigitalOcean) and enables application deployment through a Heroku-like abstraction layer. It targets teams who want the flexibility and scalability of Kubernetes without requiring Kubernetes expertise, providing both an easy developer experience and optional advanced "devops mode" for deeper cluster control. Porter supports GitOps workflows, Helm chart-based deployments, multi-cloud interoperability, and plans to expand cloud provider support including Azure. The platform offers a hosted PaaS layer running in open beta, while the applications run in users' own clouds, and aims to provide premium collaboration features in the future. Its open-source MIT license encourages community involvement and transparency.
