Signadot is a Kubernetes-based solution that enables lightweight, high-fidelity sandbox test environments for microservices early in the development lifecycle. It allows developers to spin up isolated sandboxes that modify only a few microservices relative to a shared baseline, facilitating fast integration and end-to-end testing without the bottlenecks of traditional staging environments. Using traffic labeling and request routing, Signadot routes requests to sandboxed versions of services, ensuring isolation and enabling testing of complex microservice interactions. It supports ephemeral stateful resource management through pluggable resource plugins for databases, message queues, and other dependencies. Signadot installs a Kubernetes Operator into users' clusters and operates a hosted control plane for environment management. It targets developers and engineering teams running microservices on Kubernetes who want scalable, cost-effective testing environments integrated with CI pipelines.
