Super Mario 64 HD

Super Mario 64 HD is a fan-made HD remake of the classic Nintendo 64 game Super Mario 64, created as a demo project to showcase the Super Character Controller, a custom Unity character controller designed for advanced movement and physics. The project recreates the game's first level, Bob-Omb Battlefield, with fully animated characters and detailed environments, targeting Mac, PC, and Linux platforms. Although development ceased due to legal requests, the project serves as a comprehensive example of character controller mechanics, ground detection, and physics implementation in Unity, including custom grounding algorithms, slope limiting, and ground clamping. It is an open source project aimed at Unity developers and enthusiasts interested in game development and character controller programming.
